At the Guangzhou Auto Show, Japanese luxury automaker introduced the JX35 to the Chinese market. This large crossover offers seating for seven people and arrives in the middle of strong anti-Japanese sentiment carrying a very unreasonable base price of CNY 618,000, which is almost $100,000 at today’s exchange rate.
No matter how much the Chinese like big SUV, they’re probably going to avoid this one. Another problem with the JX can be understood from it’s name. It’s not the JX50, it’s the JX35, and yes, that means it’s powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 269 horsepower, mated not to some sort of uber-cool ZF transmission bit a CVT.
Still, it does come with some pretty decent luxury fitting, such as ood accents and full leather trim, plus the 15-speaker Bose Cabin Surround sound system with Acoustic Waveguide bass.
"With the new JX, you are able to leave a child seat securely latched to the 2nd row while getting in or out of the 3rd row - just another example of the vehicle's inspired flexibility and versatility," says Infiniti Americas Vice President, Ben Poore. "It might seem like a small detail, unless you've ever tried to use a 3rd row in a vehicle with child seats, and then it's 'why didn't someone think of this before?'.”
