Infiniti Focusing on Sportier Cars?

To be honest, we really don’t know what Infiniti is doing right now. They’ve launched the EX compact crossover in Europe about a year ago, and we’ve heard no success stories, while instead of offering something fresh and cool in America, they introduced the JX, which is like a Nissan Pathfinder but uglier.
They seem to be perpetually stuck in indecision regarding whether to focus on price or on luxury, and their styling department seems to be... underfunded.

According to Automotive News, their new brand identity might become eco-sport, as the Japanese brand wants to put the Emerge-E Concept into production. This will be backed up by other sportier vehicles.

The automaker will reportedly develop new cars under the Infiniti Performance Line, or IPL, range that’s now limited to the G coupe and convertible right now. We’re not talking true sportscars, but an equivalent of Lexus’ F-Sport offerings.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
