Infiniti Europe Hires New Sales Director

Some people say that fighting against the recession should be done by laying the axe to the root and appoint new staff that could do better than their predecessors. Although it has often made the headlines since the beginning of the economic turmoil, Infiniti is now shuffling the upper management ranks and appointed a new sales director for its European division. Philippe Saillard, 43-year-old, will become responsible for the brand's evolution in the premium car sector in Europe, mainly through new model launches in the UK and Germany.

Saillard previously worked as Sales Director for Nissan and has no less than 17 years of automotive industry experience, which makes him perfect for the job, as Infiniti said in a release. He will report to Vice President Jim Wright and his team will include Infiniti Europe’s Regional Directors and Corporate Sales departments.

In a release issued today, Saillard expressed his confidence that Infiniti's market strategy will lead to only good results in Europe, mainly thanks to the new product launches which are expected to quickly catch buyers' interest in the main European markets.

“Infiniti has already successfully launched in many countries across Europe. There are more to come not least the important markets of the UK and Germany. We are also about to enter the second phase in our product offensive with the G37 Convertible/Cabrio due for introduction in September, and then the M Sedan and V6 Diesel in 2010. It’s an exciting time to join the brand. Infiniti’s line-up and our retail concept are unique – we will continue to expand our European market presence," he commented on his decision to join Infiniti.
