Right now, the most interesting cars Nissan’s luxury division Infiniti can muster are a seven-seat crossover and a long wheelbase sedan. Needless to say, people who still have a pulse are wisely avoiding the brand.
So how did a company that has lost touch with the sportscar world create an exciting-lookig EV two-seater concept for the Geneva Motor Show. It’s simple: they ask for help.

Previous reports indicated that the Emerg-E Concept shown in Geneva has developed in partnership with Lotus. However, CarandDriver has learned the full extent of the collaboration, and it looks like the electric sportscar was actually built on the underpinning of the Lotus Evora.

The platform is right, the car looks good, but is the time also right?

Infiniti seems to think so, as they are preparing a couple of prototypes for testing purposes. The actual car should take the form of an extended range EV or plug-in, since nobody wants a car that runs out of juice.
