Infiniti Considering GT-R Based Halo Supercar

We’ve heard a rumor that Nissan’s luxury division Infiniti could get its own version of the GT-R in the past, but we never gave them credence, since such a halo car wouldn’t be of much use to them. They are more about hybrids these days, and hooning round the track or racing supercars isn’t their thing.
But it would have to be softer than the GT-R 1 photo

But CAR Magazine has recently reported they Infiniti could indeed put a really sharp tip at the top of their unicorn horn-shaped badge. That’s because Infiniti’s head of advanced planning Francois Bancon says a halo car based on the GT-R running gear is being considered.

“It’s too good a platform to use only on one model,” Bancon says.“We have three or four proposals we are looking at right now. Once we have launched the new smaller Infiniti, the time would be right to have a flagship.”

We agree that the GT-R tech is too good to miss out, but as our latest editorial suggests, we’d much rather have the Juke-R or something along those lines.
