The sedan model in cause is the Vios, which started in December last year to be exported to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. Starting this month, the model will also find its way to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen. Initial plan calls for exports totaling 1,000 units a month and it will be increased to 3,000u nits in the near future.

“This achievement speaks highly of the more than 7,600 amazing team members at Toyota in Indonesia whose hard work and determination have enabled us to reach this historic day. It’s a proud day for us all,” says TMMIN president director Masahiro Nonami.

Toyota Indonesia is located in North Jakarta and its working since April 1971, next month celebrating its 43rd anniversary. The first model exported was the Kijang minivan to Brunei Darussalam.

The first exports to the Middle East market began July 2005 with the Innova minivan, followed by the Fortuner SUV in December 2006.
