Indianapolis Colts’ Reggie Wayne Arrives at Training Camp in an IndyCar

The six-time Pro Bowl selection member of the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI championship team Reginald “Reggie” Wayne made a great appearance at the team’s training camp at Anderson University in Indiana, the other day. After missing the second half of the 2013 season, Indianapolis Colts’ 35-year old wide receiver showed up in an IndyCar steered by local driver Ed Carpenter.

As journalist Brent Drinkut of the Indy Star captured on Twitter, Wayne arrived at camp riding in a two-seat racer. Even though he's retirement is close, the guy proved he still has a couple of moves left. And how often do you see an actual open-wheel car on the street, right? Well, we’re pretty sure that is what the football celebrity thought, considering he turned heads and surprised his teammates.

We’ll be honest with you, the IndyCar driven by Ed Carpenter is probably a demo car built for the thrills, rather than the actual ones you see on a racing track. But still, riding in that is definitely something any person would like to do at least once in life.

As to Wayne’s career, it seems everything is just fine, considering he recently recovered from last year’s injury. In a 9–19 loss to the San Diego Chargers on October 14, 2013, Wayne reached 1,000 career receptions, becoming only the ninth receiver to do so. However, a week later, in an October 20 game against the Denver Broncos, Wayne tore his ACL. His injury forced him to stay off the field the remainder of the 2013 season. The injury also ended his consecutive games played streak at 189, the third-longest for a wide receiver in NFL history.
