That is, if you believe you can handle riding for around 10 hours a day, each day for a week or so and are ready to do this no matter what in terms of weather. The initiative comes from three members of the club above, Kjell Ingebretsen, Oddbjorn Fjelde and Petter Kristoffersen (pictured).

Weather in Norway is very nice in the month of June and the three thought about staging a special ride Indian owners will never forget. The trip will circle the southern Norway counterclockwise and starts (and ends) Lyngdal. Each stage will end in a town were an Indian service or dealer is present, with local hospitality.

The ride kicks off in Lyngdal and heads over to Skien, Oslo/Lillehammer, Verdal, Molde, Geiranger, and Bergen, before reaching Lyngdal again.

A ride in the midnight sun

Besides dealer-hoster parties, boat trips and other cultural events, those attending the Indian ride will also be able to enjoy the midnight sun. This time of year, "the nights aren’t dark because the sun doesn’t set," Kristoffersen says. That is, the end of the riding week, scheduled Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 June.

He also adds that "Little traffic and great roads make this motorcycle tour through Norway so special. And to bring together riders that share the same passion for the Indian Motorcycle brand on these fantastic roads for a fantastic event will make a memory for life.”

Riders pay for their lodging and meals

Those who feel like taking part in the ride can register online for the Norwegian Dealer Ride. A €50 ($54) participation fee is required and a t-shirt will be offered for free. Attendants will have to see to their other expenses, such as fuel, hotels and food, the organizers say.

Some of the main attractions of the ride are doubtlessly the famous Atlantic Roads to Molde and the famed "route 666" on Trollstigen, a steep mountain road.

The ride is only available for Indian owners and their passengers.
