Days after the “problematic” autoevolution editorial on which way could Indian Motorcycle develop its bike line-up, new details on the 2015 model year bikes surface. As expected, the modifications seem to only have affected the way these bikes look, with a 3-machine line-up envisaged for the 2015 season and more modifications possibly to be announced later on, for future series.
All the three Indian models are receiving a new livery for 2015. The 2015 Indian Chief Classic will be available in an Indian Motorcycle Red and Thunder Black combination, while the Chief Vintage gets two extra colors, Indian Motorcycle Red and Ivory Cream and Willow Green and Ivory Cream.

The flagship Chieftain will be available in the red/black livery, which seems to be a basic offering from Indian for 2015, but customers will also be able to choose between Indian Motorcycle Red and Ivory Cream and Springfield Blue and Ivory Cream.

Indian has not mentioned any more changes to the 2015 line-up, adding only that more info will be made available upon the official introduction of the new bikes, which will take place August 2, in Sturgis, during the legendary annual motorcycle rally. The whole range of 2015 model year accessories are also expected to be upgraded for a perfect match with the new color options, and we’ll definitely see cooler-looking apparel from Indian, as well.

There’s not exactly much left until the early-August rally in Sturgis, and we’ll keep you posted with every piece of information which makes it to the press. Until then, we’ve got wind on a small aesthetic problem the 2014 Indian Chief Vintage customers may have. Several reports mention that the tan color of the leather accents on these bikes is fading to a white-ish shade. The same customers say they contacted Indian and have been promised (and sent) a repair kit for this problem, but it doesn’t look like a recall is on its way.
