Indian ads with a twist
With serious Polaris backing and a lot of money invested in the new generation of motorcycles, it was only natural that Indian Motorcycles were about to start claiming back as much market share from Harley-Davidson as they possibly could... and the battle has already begun.
Even though Harley sits quite comfortably in their place, as the competition is still far behind under the 10 per cent mark, we clearly see Indian gathering momentum for the official launch of their all-new 2014 Indian Chief bike, this summer at Sturgis.

And with not-exactly-that subtle ads, such as the one in May's issue of Popular Mechanics, it's easy to see that Polaris (and Indian) are really on the move. While the printed ad does not mention Harley-Davidson, only the blind or the willingly blind would not see the innuendo.

With the top half of the page in black and white, showing an old bike and reading "Hobby" in simple lettering and the bottom half printed in full-color depicting a new Indian and reading "Passion" in a much more fluid font, there is little more we could say.

There is much ground to make up for Polaris and Indian, but things are on the move. Indian will showcase their new 2014 Indian Chief motorcycle at the Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, July 31st – August 11th, 2013. Source Business Journal via Bikernet.
