According to an Indian press release, the number of owners outside the USA has grown to the point where they can be offered the opportunity to become members of the existing Indian Motorcycle Riders Group (IMRG).
This means that the owners of Indian bikes living in Europe, the Middle East and Africa can join the well-established Indian Motorcycle Riders Group originally formed in the US.

Indian plans to launch the new Indian Motorcycle Riders Group at a special party that will take place at the European Bike Week rally in Faak Am See, Austria, Saturday, September 12th.

Owners of any Indian motorcycle, no matter how old and regardless of location will be able to join a local chapter. The chapters will be based at the local Indian Motorcycle dealerships, which will thus become the hub of Indian-related rider activities in all the countries where these bikes will be sold.

A free one year's membership for the EMEA members

A special website has also been created for these riders (imrgmember.com). Riders who buy an Indian motorcycle will be registered to the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group immediately and will receive an username and a password, while existing owners will have to register with the local dealers.

The first year of membership is free, and these are the benefits of joining the IMRG:
  • Recognition for your owner experiences
  • Opportunities to share your passion with fellow riders at events and rallies
  • Exclusive benefits to enhance your riding & travel experience
  • Exclusive Indian Motorcycle Riders Group member collectibles & apparel.

Indian also reports that they are "now in the process of organizing a very unique event at Faak, including a Wall of Death show and a special concert. The event is free, but IMRG members must pre-register on the IMRG website."

Needless to say that this is Indian's response to the Harley Owners Groups (HOG) throughout the world. The move was a natural one and we've been expecting it even sooner, but it looks like the Indian calculated a different size for the critical mass of Indian owners.
