Kawasaki and Bajaj have announced the official price for the new Ninja 300, launched today in India, but the news is not as good as we hoped it would be.
The ex-showroom (Delhi) Ninja 300 is 350K Indian rupees which translates to around $6,400 or €4.895, but with the on-road added taxes the price is said to jump over the 400k INR marks, making the final price of the bike over $7,300 or €5,582.
KTM India CEO estimated a price for the upcoming 390 Duke, at the Orange Days event: 230-250k INR ($4,585 or €3,500) and told the local media that the new Duke will also have ABS. The new Ninja 300 has no ABS for the Indian market, will not have it as an option and there will be no Performance version.
We really don't know how does Kawasaki plan to fight the small-displacement battle in Asia with this expensive Ninja 300, but we're waiting for a firm on-road price for the 390 Duke to weigh the chances for the green and orange teams.
