After the recent launch of the 7 Series Bimmer in Malaysia, the Indian market is expecting a similar release in the following months.BMW had the same approach with the X1 when the Indian market received the face lifted SUV soon after the Malaysian release. The same MO is expected for the 7 Series.
The LCI 7 Series showed small visual changes from the model released in 2008. The most important ones regard the LED inserts for the headlamps, the slightly redesigned front grille and front bumper and a chrome strip at the back. The interior has new leather seats with a different look, the new iDrive Infotainment system and larger screens for the passengers.

The Malaysian model will be available in the long wheelbase version with the 3-liter petrol engine as the base propulsion system. Regarding the entry-level diesel, the 3-liter 242 HP engine will remain BMW's choice. Both of the entry-level engines will be fitted with the 8-speed automatic transmission, the start-stop system and the energy regeneration module as standard.

The Indian market will probably get the same range of engines and the same options as the Malaysian one. The main difference might be the price though. For the Indian market the 7 Series BMW might be assembled in India, due to the Completely Knocked Down kits, or CKD.

Because of the high import taxes that India practices, this has become a popular procedure for most luxury manufacturers present on the Indian market. For example, the Mercedes-Benz S Class is assembled in India through a similar process and the analysts expect a rise in sells for the Merc's Limousine. Given the fact that BMW will enter the same market along with Audi A8 and the Jaguar XJ might make the Indian limousine market extremely competitive. Good news for India!
