As violent as this crash looks, you'll most likely be as surprised and relieved as I was to learn that the unfortunate rider made it through the day with only minor injuries.
The scenarios is a classic one, with a driver steering to the left completely oblivious or even ignoring the approaching motorcycle in from of him.
Car cuts bike off, disaster ensues. Truth be told, it looks like the bike was not exactly doing 50 km/h (30 mph) in what appears to be an urban area. Still, the major fault seems to lie with the car driver.
After seeing the bike almost torn in half and flying through the air, accompanied by the rider's somersault, I thought it's time that the guy in the camera car called in the coroner. Still it was not the case. Good idea to wear a helmet and riding gear, even in Taiwan, where few riders do!
