It was a glorious weekend for both motorcycle collectors and Mecum Auctions, as the MidAmerica Motorcycles 23rd Annual Las Vegas Antique Motorcycle Auction & Races brought no less than $7,475,155 (€5.49 mil) sales, marking the most successful auction for Mecum.
The undisputed star of the Vegas auction weekend was, as predicted, the 1911 Harley-Davidson 7D Twin (pictured), which gaveled $260,000 (€190,900). The 102-years-old Harley was followed by the younger 1925 BMW R37 racer, which switched hands for $200,000 (€146,875).
Mecum had 537 motorcycles going under the hammer and 441 have been sold, accounting for a nifty 82% sell-through rate.

2. 1925 BMW R37 (Lot 436) at $200,000
3. 1936 Harley-Davidson EL (Lot 483) at $165,000
4. 1955 Vincent Black Prince (Lot 499) at $125,000
5. 1914 Harley-Davidson 10F Twin (Lot 474) at $105,000
6. 1928 Harley-Davidson JDH Twin (Lot 480) at $100,000
7. 1972 Triumph/BSA TRX 7502 (Lot 491) at $97,000
8. 1909 Harley-Davidson 5 C Single (Lot 187) at $95,000
9. 1938 Brough Superior SS80 (Lot 498) at $95,000
10. 1915 Harley-Davidson 11F Twin (Lot 475) at $91,000.
The most expensive bike which was not sold was an 1923 H-D Hillclimber, expected to brings $160,000 (€117,500). Check the attached list for more details on the Mecum auction.
