Try to remember that remote lake in the mountains you always wished you could spend your holiday at, but because of regulations you never actually afforded going. What if instead of a polluting and noisy resort you could build a small, eco-conscious floating hotel right on the lake? Strict rules would still be applied, of course, but this way people will get the chance to properly enjoy nature.
That’s pretty much how Salt & Water, an Architecture and Yacht Design firm from Serbia sees a potential resort of the future. They claim their project is developed with the aim to promote tourism on inland waters that “offer beautiful examples of untouched (and often neglected) nature.”

As we mentioned, the floating hotel would make for a good option for tourism without any violation of the natural harmony of the place itself. The concept works on a couple of simple ideas. There’s a central piece that would make for the reception, a structure that is permanently docked. To this “wharf” several catamarans would connect, just like boats are moored to load and unload.

Each watercraft makes for an apartment that consists of a salon, a galley, a bathroom, a hall with storage space and a sleeping area (above the salon). We’re talking about small apartments that can accommodate up to four persons. From the beach platform, it is easy to access the water for swimming, diving, fishing and sunbathing.

Wondering around the open water is something rappers would call low-riding when it comes to driving their cars on the streets. It’s not about speed; it's about admiring the surroundings.

We don’t know about you guys, but we see this concept making for quite an impressive resort, especially for Northern America, where some lakes are huge and worth sailing on.
