In Canada, Scion Pays You to Race Your FR-S in its Racing Contingency

In normal organized weekend races around the world, you have to simply show up in you properly equipped car, enter the race at your cost (gas, tires etc.) and hope you get a podium to earn some cash. Well, in Canada, Scion is so polite, that pays even the last place just for being there and have fun.

Building on the success of the last year event, Scion Racing Contingency Program is here again with even more reasons to join it if you’re Canadian and own a Scion (preferably an FR-S) - this year, payouts will be awarded not only for performing well, but also for the level of participation.

“The Scion Racing Contingency Program has only been in existence for two years, but we have already made a major contribution to grassroots motorsports in Canada,” said Cyril Dimitris, Director of Scion Canada. “We look forward to continuing the momentum in 2014 for this exceptional program. As part of its evolution, we’re pleased to announce changes to the payout ratio to better reward racers who demonstrate a higher level of participation.”

The program enables owners to showcase their rides and driving skills in a series of closed course events like autoslalom, time attack, racing series and drifting. They will also be able to earn between $100 and $800, depending on the series. For participation alone, payouts range from $40 to $350 per race and drivers can claim up to five participation payments.

Of course, the program will only be open for legal Canadians who have reached the age of majority with a Canadian driving license.
