Despite the unpredictable weather, which is now a national trademark for the UK, the Brits seem to love their open top sports cars, which they really appreciate, because due to the aforementioned weather, they don’t really get to drive them every day.
The Mazda MX-5 has been on sale in the UK since its launch and it has registered some of its best sales figures, in the Isles. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has announced that it will be launching an upgraded version of the current car, in an effort to improve the overall package.
So, what are these improvements Mazda is talking about? Well, the car gets a redesigned front bumper which they say not only looks better, but also improves airflow, as well as a new paint scheme, called Dolphin Grey Mica, which we must admit looks really good.
Other additional changes include improved throttle and brake systems, alterations made to enhance the already sporty driving experience. The final change brought to the car is the addition of a new ‘active bonnet’ which raises the rear edge of the bonnet, when the car’s sensors determine that an impact is inevitable, thus reducing the injury risk for pedestrians.
No official launch date has been announced, but expect the updated car to arrive in UK showrooms ‘later this year’, as Mazda themselves state.
