The Swedes over at IKEA might seem like they have a plan for every scenario you can think of, but we're pretty sure their designers didn't expect the rather basic plastic cutting boards they offer to be so good.
What do we mean by "good"? Well, the 2015 Honda Civic EX in the image gallery below appears to be gifted with a nice set of mudflaps, but you're actually looking at IKEA's little slicing helpers here - we bet many would expect aging beaters, not nearly new cars to receive such DIY jobs.

The Canadian owner of this Honda decided to go for a budget approach when gifting his ride with said accessories, so he went for the IKEA stuff. However, given the fact that he "assembled" the things himself, it all qualifies for your typical IKEA job - the man cut, sanded and mounted the flaps.

He also took the time to upload the pics of the car on Reddit and when he was asked why he felt his Civic needed such accessories, he blamed his country for it - "I live in Canada, they're pretty practical when it gets slushy and snowy," the Redditor said.

As for the look-at-me hue of the mudflaps, the Honda owner does state he plans to paint them black, with the shenanigan we see here being a mere fitment test. However, after receiving positive feedback on the social network, we wouldn't bet on the final step of the process being completed.

The guy might just leave his mudflaps in the shade of red we see here, and while such accessories aren't our cup of tea to start with, we have to admit there's an odd satisfaction we get when seeing such a color combo.

Oh, and by the way, did we mention he paid CAD12 (make that $9 at the current exchange rate) for the boards?
