There are drivers for whom the height limits on the signs at the entrance to the underground car park don't mean much. Of course, some careless people don’t notice those signs or don't know the height of their car so they venture out hoping that the cars they drive won't get hurt.
Not so for this driver. A video taken by an amateur captured the moment a hapless driver managed to damage his car into the ceiling while exiting an underground car park.
The video opens with a van driving in a parking lot and at one point it hits the ceiling. The driver doesn't seem to brake and continues on his way as the car creaks and leaves the dust in the aftermath of the impact. You can see how the van's suspension is compressed under a concrete beam. One would expect that at the next beam the driver would learn something and stop, to no avail, however, the unconscious driver drives on as if it is not his car.
We don't know how many of these beams he hit, but in the video, we see that the car impacted at least four of them, and the driver doesn't seem willing to stop. Instead of break off to inspect the damage, the driver drove on as if a few scratches on the ceiling didn't mean much.
Someone in the comments suggests that he could have deflated the wheels to lower the car a few inches, however, the advice is rather belated in this case.
The driver seems to have come to terms with the fact that his car will suffer and all he wants to do is drive away. Or there could be another explanation: the car was stolen and the thieves were trying to escape.
But the situation is best underlined, in an amusing tone, by this comment left by a user: ”Those height restrictions don't apply to me cuz I can't read!”
