If the BMW X7 Doesn't Feel Protective Enough, Just Call Inkas for Armored Help

With more than two decades worth of experience in the business, it’s safe to assume that Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing knows what it’s doing when banks, law enforcement agencies, corporate entities, or affluent individuals ask something new of them. You know, like a 2021 BMW X7 that’s capable of withstanding an assault from high-powered rifles such as the legendary M-16 and AK-47.

The Canadian company is no stranger to creating luxurious yet bulletproof rides based on vehicles originating from North America and the other side of the Atlantic. Actually, the last time we checked up on Inkas, we did it in complete awe of their take on the 2020 Mercedes-AMG G63 VIP Limo.

Now it’s time for something a little more subtle – and almost just as fancy. Their latest reveal comes in the form of a 2021 BMW X7 that has been taken to B6 protection levels so anyone can feel safe during the daily travels.

It’s both luxurious and ready to take a beating, although even with the subtle black paint job we’re not exactly in agreement with Inkas' statement that the X7 really is something that usually gives “an impression of lightness and agility thanks to the purist design and athletic styling.” Maybe it’s just us, and the huge grille conundrum still has an impact on us.

Speaking of blows, this SUV knows how to take a beating and still look indestructible in the process, as it’s perfectly capable of stopping full metal jacket/pointed bullet/soft core 7.62 ammunition or a couple of hand grenades in their tracks. Hopefully, the owner won’t ever need to see its armored capabilities in action and instead will forever remain impressed by the Bavarian's other traits.

Among them, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine packing 523 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, the eight-speed automatic transmission, or any of the features BMW already offers on a standard 2021 X7. It's worth knowing that Inkas engineers also equipped the Bavarian SUV with complete perimeter protection for the passenger compartment, a reinforced suspension, heavy-duty brakes and other interesting components – such as sirens, an intercom system, or an emergency lighting setup.
