If Ducati Panigale Was a Car...

If Audi ever thinks about getting into the open-top roadster fray, then it's Ducati they must turn to. And Jakusa Design. The magic roadster imagined by Tamas Jakus has us dreaming with our eyes wide open and gasping in amazement.

Seriously, Audi could do quite well thinking about a rival for vehicles such as the Ariel Atom, KTM X-Bow, Polaris' neat Slingshot and more. Using an actual Panigale engine is optional, and we guess such a contraption could do well with pretty much anything.

It's not that uncommon to have such small three- or four-wheelers powered by motorcycle engines, and we've seen them all, from H-D v-twins to Hayabusa mills used for this purpose.

Now, Ducati could use the powerplant of the 1299 Panigale or even the new liter-class V4 engine rumored to arrive in the future, but we'd also be happy to see an Audi lump in there, as well.

The Panigale front end looks exceedingly aggressive

We love the "nose" of the Panigale, and seeing Jakusa using the same design language for a car is nothing short of glorious. Ducati's superbike has already been rewarded with multiple design awards, so we're working with winner material.

At the same time, Borgo Panigale went a long way to test the aerodynamics of their sport machines, so we're also in already proven territory. The Panigale is about more than simply looking good, it's about on-the-road performance.

As for the feasibility of such a project, looking at the interest people have in these roadsters, we guess that one slotting under the €30,000 ($33,500) bar could really nail it. For a strange reason, these Jakusa Panigale roadsters somehow brings the same feeling we had seeing the Audi-powered Donkervoort for the first time. It's a bit comparing apples to oranges, that's true, but sleekness has no borders, has it?
