Time Traveler in Dodge Challenger Meets Building. Suprisingly, He Wins

Dodge Challenger Crashed Into Building 1 photo

A guy at the wheel of a late model Dodge Challenger crashed into a building and destroyed two offices while he was attempting to time travel. Wait. What?
As stupid as it sounds, this actually happened. A man in Pensacola, Florida, thought he could travel through time, like Doc Brown and Marty in their DMC 12. Since his Challenger didn't come with a flux capacitor, he failed at going back to the future. Unfortunately, he succeeded at partially demolishing a building. We don't know if he was able to hit 88 mph before he probably lost control of the vehicle.

The car drove straight through the building, located at the corner of Davis Highway and Fairfield Drive, taking out a wall and coming out on the other side. Two businesses had their offices destroyed in the process and were forced to relocate while contractors repaired the damage. A third business also had to move to make way for the other two.

Since the car was all but destroyed and there's only one photo available - the vehicle had been taken away by the time the TV crew got there - it's impossible to tell exactly what model Challenger it is. But people this stupid couldn't possibly make enough money to afford anything but the base model. That one retails at $26,995 in the US, so trying to time travel was still an expensive mistake.

According to ABC local affiliate Channel Three, the police only issued the driver a citation for reckless driving. Which, based on Florida law, is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum of one year or a fine of $1,000. A civil suit is sure to follow.

Since this happened on a Sunday morning, there was nobody in the offices, fortunately. The driver survived without major injuries and was taken to the hospital. Natural selection failed this time, but the guy is bound to do some other stupid thing as soon as he's back on his feet.
