Scheduled to make its world public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Icon Sheene superbike is reportedly the world’s most expensive and powerful road-going motorcycle. Developed by motorcycle designer and builder Andrew Morris, this amazing bike is dedicated to the legendary racer Barry Sheene.

The motorcycle came to life over a five-year period, thanks to the support of Barry’s widow Stephanie Sheene and friend Steve Parrish. The pictures and specs released by the British maker are meant to tease potential buyers that are willing to pay £107,000 ($160,000) for this beautifully handcrafted superbike.

Each example will be custom fitted for its customer, so there will be no two identical Icon Sheene machines on the road. The paintwork and logo design is made by Mike Fairholme, the same man responsible for the graphics on Barry’s helmets.

Powered by a 1.4-liter, turbocharged, inline 4-cylinder engine developing 250 bhp, the top speed is reached at 200 mph (322 km/h).

The custom made tubular aluminum frame including a fuel tank made from hand-beaten aluminum takes around a month to fabricate. The bodywork is made up of hand-laid carbon fiber panels. Other special features of the Icon Sheene include etched and engraved plaques and yokes, a hand-painted 1940s style pin-up girl and Alcantara racing seat with Sheene ‘7’ logo.

According to the manufacturer, production of the Icon Sheene will be limited to just 52 units, one for each year of Barry’s life. At Goodwood, the superbike will be ridden by Barry’s son, Freddie.
