The Iron Lung is yet another intriguing custom build from Icon, filling the ranks of their previous machines. Whereas many of the custom Icon bikes are really neat machines, this evil Sportster is so much different.
Part racing bike, part rat bike, the Iron Lung harks back to a long-gone road racing era, when bikes were powerful, but almost unrideable. A machine basically built for being ridden as hard as the pilot dares to, this 1991 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 got a bore job, and the displacement jumped to 1,200cc.
Handling however, didn't, and Icon are not shy of admitting this, calling the Iron Lung "an accident waitring to happen".
Cue a much bigger fork to accommodate the beefy bobber-approved front tire, a custom fairing, relocated oil tank and ridiculously radical Supertrapp trumpet-like exhausts, rearsets and a racing rear cowl and you've got a rather ugly bike, but an ugly bike oozing true racing character.
