The first of a number of Carbon Lifeform tribute bikes, this AFG Moto built Ducati 1198 can only be seen by the lucky ones who get closer to the tracks of Japan. This version was built by team Icon rider Ernie “E-Dub” Vigil. Built for competing in the XDL freestyle sportbike series, Ernie’s bike is packed with a trick kit.

Owned and campaigned by USAF SSgt Jeff McCreary, the CF 1198 features the usual host of Italian performance modifications (Marchesini, Brembo, Pirelli, etc) in addition to its MotoStretta Japan motor work and J-Mac custom exhaust.

In terms of styling, Icon fans should have already realized that it was built as a replica for the brand’s Carbon Lifeform helmet that you can see in the adjacent image. “Carbon - the fundamental structure of all life - incredibly light, unbelievably strong,” Icon said when launching the helmet.

In its medium shell size, the Carbon Lifeform Airframe is claimed to weigh just 1450 grams, more than half a pound lighter than the standard Airframe. The carbon shell is formed using a dry-molding technique that aligns the composite fibers in an optimum placement to provide maximum strength with minimal weight.

Starting on a 50cc motorcycle at age 7, Vigil has had plenty of time to perfect the art of Street Freestyle. From popping wheelies around his neighborhood to riding for Ducati North America, Vigil sure has a thing or two to say in the stunting world. He doubled as Jim Carey in the motion picture "Yes Man".
