Icon shows its latest Airmada creation, called Sensory, definitely not everybody’s cup of tea, but by all means, one of the most amazing lids we saw this month. They say to save the best for last, but one of the goodies which come with the Icon Armada Sensory is just too good to mention it last: it has effin’ glow-in-the-dark eyes painted on it!
Already painted in a bright green Kawasaki Ninja purist fans will instantaneously fall in love with, the Icon Sensory may seem a bit too comic-like, but only to those who can’t appreciate how cool it is in fact. Dozens of eyes are scattered all over the shell of this new Airmada, and I can bet this helmet will turn more heads than any bike or exhaust will.

Does is look gross? Some might say so. Is it intimidating? Definitely, and this is a good thing: mixing hi-viz, loud green with graphics to make your eyes pop out (sic!) is surely a glorious idea. The helmet graphics is even more aggressive with all the sharp fangs which surround the visor opening. Okay, pink gums through which these fangs protrude may be a tad too soft, but this doesn’t reduce the awe-factor a bit.

As mentioned in the opening paragraph, the eyes on the Icon Airmada Sensory are glowing in the dark. I can’t even imagine the expression on other motorists face as they approach a rider wearing this killer helmet, but I bet it is in the “priceless category”.

On the tech side, the helmet comes with an injection molding polycarbonate shell backed by a dual-density EPS liner, and with proprietary HydraDry misture wicking liner to help evacuate perspiration and reducing the heat build-up. A Rapid Release, Fog-Free Icon Optics visor with a ProLock shield locking system is also satandar, while adjustable chin and forehead vents provide riders with better air flow control. Liners are removable and washable, and a Dark Smojke shield is included.

The helmet is available in 4 shell sizes, with an Icon exclusive long oval headform for ultimate fit and comfort. If the Airmada sizing is maintained for this helmet, you can get it in sizes 2XS through 3 XL, for $270 (€198).

Now, will all those eyes protect you from being hit when you change lanes without checking your mirrors? Most likely not, but the gruesome green stare may spare you some SMIDSYs.
