Iacocca Mustang Anniversary Edition Pricing Announced

The special edition Mustangs finally have a price tag that, in fact, can be considered quite reasonable. I Legacy and the Southern California Galpin Ford dealership have released pricing on the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang, which is on sale starting $89,950. The first model in the run has already been sold at an auction, fetching $125,000.

The limited edition Mustangs are dedicated to Lee Iacocca, known to many as the “Father of the Ford Mustang”. Iacocca also helped design the anniversary model, working with designer Michael Leone, Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters and Design Company.

Each of the 45 limited edition Mustangs are custom-built by the team at Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters, who used composite construction laminates, a reinforced material that is primarily used in aerospace design.

According to I Legacy, the team behind the introducing of this limited run, “the car is an exceptional piece of modern day coach building, an art dating back to the 1930s and 40s, reaching a zenith with European sports cars of the 50s and 60s. It is a hand-built example of an art form that is all but lost today.”

The hand-crafted vehicles, all painted in a specially created Iacocca silver hue, have every emblem hand-finished and polished. Front and rear wheels are cast aluminum and chrome plated, while the center caps are machined and also chrome plated.

The car’s two powerplant options are sourced from the same engine, namely a normally-aspirated 4.6l Ford V8, and both are mated to a 5-speed stick shift transmission. The unit develops either 320 hp (for the Ford Racing Cold Air) or 400 hp (for the Ford Racing Supercharger).

Interior highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel with "I" logos, Diamond Design leather seats with embroidery stitching, an Iacocca signature dash plaque with serial number, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with “I” badge and Iacocca-badged aluminum sill plates.
