Again, sometimes we all have to brake, even if we have the right of way. Sorry for having to say this but there's nothing appealing in being dead and with he right of way.
This footage is the perfect example of how bad things can go when other road users are not giving a flying fudge on road regulations.
If we look carefully, we see that the scooter rider was on the main road as he was steering left and therefore the incoming truck should have given way, as it was leaving the main road, pretty much the same (mental) way it would have steered left on a straight road.
The fact that the truck driver has reckless enough as to disregard the signs does not protect the rider. Maybe he was a bit distracted and failed to see the incoming truck which, by the way, could only slow down a bit, but never stop, whatsoever.
So the choice to let him pass (and then possibly think of the darkest Russian curses) was a no-brainer. Too bad the scooter rider saw all this too late... and luckily for him it was only his two-wheeler who got blown to smithereens.
The guys was truly inches away from being transformed into pulp, right of way and all.
