In honor of the 75th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Why We Ride Films intends to make a new movie called I Am Sturgis. I Am Sturgis will be an epic documentary about the social institution the Sturgis rally has become and an exceptional milestone in the North American motorcycle culture.
Around 1,000,000 riders are expected to journey into the Black Hills of South Dakota this summer, and this makes the summer of 2015 one of the best moments for shooting such a video documentary. A 60-day Kickstarter campaign was initiated and aims to raise $350,000 (€322,000) for the production.

Limited edition I Am Sturgis memorabilia offered and a chance to have your name in the credits

Those who want to be a part of this awesome project can show their support by joining Why We Ride Films' campaign and showing their support with Kickstarter pledges.

From $5 to $10,000 (€4.5-9,200) the I Am Sturgis funding campaign has something for every supporter. Digital downloads, patches, pins, stickers, limited edition t-shirts, Blu-ray and DVDs are always welcome, but the campaign has more awesomeness to offer.

Red Carpet Premiere and after party tickets can also be earned with more generous support, as well as private theatrical screening and the title of Associate or Co-Executive Producer are at stake.

If the 75th Sturgis Rally means something to you, now it's the time to show it. I Am Sturgis is expected to be released in late summer 2016.

MotoAmerica names Yamaha an Official Manufacturer

Yamaha has been named as Official Manufacturer for the 2015 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship.

To some, knowing that 3-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey is the president of MotoAmerica may sound a little funny. That is because Rainey and Yamaha have been involved for a long time, with all the three world titles being won with Yamaha machinery, namely the YZR500 prototype.

On the other hand, Yamaha's involvement in this new series is a natural move, given the fact that the house of Iwata is the most successful manufacturer in AMA history, with more than 500 victories in multiple classes. The MotoAmerica website proudly adds that Yamaha won "five Superbike titles in the last five years. This season, Josh Hayes will attempt to win his fifth Superbike title, and he'll do so on the new 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1. In addition, Yamaha has also won the last two Daytona SportBike (now Supersport) titles."

Yamaha will also support MotoAmerica's presence on CBS Sports Networks with custom, feature-based content, and will also sponsor the MotoAmerica drone used for aerial imaging during racing weekends.

The MotoAmerica schedule is as follows:

Apr 10-12 Circuit of the Americas – Austin, Texas (Superbike/Superstock 1000 and Supersport as MotoGP support races)
