Hyundai Veloster US Pricing Starts at $17,300

Last time we heard of the Hyundai Veloster, a commercial for it was being banned for being to violent in Holland. But even if a car is violent, people will still be willing to put up with it if the price is right.

Hyundai has gone for social networking to release the base price for the innovative 2+1 door model in the US, adding that full pricing information will be released by the end of the year. "Stay tuned for full Veloster pricing info later this week. But here's the best part: The well-equipped Veloster starts at just $17,300," Hyundai wrote on Twitter.

For the money, Hyundai will give you the base 1.6-liter GDI inline four-cylinder and a six-speed manual transmission, but if your left foot muscles are to weak to work the clutch, you can get the EcoShift dual clutch transmission for $1,250 extra. However, the most interesting bit about this engine is that it provides 138 horsepower while stretching a gallon of fuel for about 40 miles.

Hyundai brags that the Veloster will offer an involving driving experience, with the enginners working hard to achieve this. So, what will the vehicle rely on to deliver fun to the one behond the wheel? a lightweight V-torsion beam setup for the rear suspension, a 23-milimeter stabilizer bar, a performance-orientated electric-power steering, as well as 17-inch rims with 215/45 tires. Customers can also opt for 18-inch wheels that use 215/40 go-fast rubber.

Meanwhile, the seven-inch touchscreen display and Bluetooth are standard. There’s also a style pack that brings fog lamps, leatherette seat bolsters and a subwoofer for your banging base beats, all for $2,000.

The Veloster will arrive next month as a 2012 model with its hatchback full of unique, and potentially game-changing, features and functions.
