Hyundai to Lorry Mushrooms

The success South Korean manufacturer Hyundai is experiencing on the Australian market leads to all sorts of marketing stunts pulled by the car maker in an attempt to secure more of that illusive market share.

After making public over the weekend the 10th consecutive sponsorship agreement with the Australian Open through alliance partner Kia, at the beginning of the week the car maker announced a new agreement signed with The Mushroom Group of Companies.

The group, which is one of Australia's biggest entertainment corporations, will see Hyundai vehicles being used to transport Mushroom's artists across the country, when there for whatever gig.

The cars to be used by Hyundai this way are i45 mid-sized sedans and iMax eight-seater executive shuttles. Suffice to say, the exposure Kia will get from transporting artists across Australia is priceless in the bitter fight with its competitors.

“We are delighted to have Hyundai on board,” said Reegan Stark, National Publicity & Promotions director. “Hyundai has stylish, state-of-the-art safe cars we know our artists will be happy to travel in.”

“The i45 offers luxurious transport for single musicians and promotional trips, whilst the iMax is perfect for offering us loads of space and comfort when the guys want to travel together to and from gigs.”

Just to give you an idea of the names Kia will be tying its name to through this stunt, we'll tell you the Mushroom represents artists like Justin Beiber, Kings of Leon, Lionel Richie, Maroon 5, Blondie, Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Barnes, Kasey Chambers, The Temper Trap, Usher, Little Red and Tom Jones
