Hyundai to Launch 8 Spots during the Oscars

In an automotive world where many car companies struggle to avoid bankruptcy, Hyundai is one lucky fellow. While its rivals proceeded to massive cuts of the advertising and marketing budget, the South Korean car maker affords the luxury to  launch more and more commercials.

As a matter of fact, the Oscar night will mark the start of Hyundai's first national advertising campaign when no less than 8 spots will be aired on ABC's telecast of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Just as the ads broadcasted during the Super Bowl, these spots are meant to communicate three messages: a significant addition to the innovative Hyundai Assurance program called "Hyundai Assurance Plus," the "2009 North American Car of the Year" award gained by the Hyundai Genesis and the launch of the exciting new Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

Therefore, Hyundai has secured seven 30-second ads and one 60-second ad that will be broadcasted during the Oscars.

"We have so many great stories to tell that we couldn't miss the opportunity to speak to the huge national audience drawn to the Academy Awards," said Joel Ewanick, vice president, Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. "On a night when the entertainment industry gathers to celebrate its success, we want to honor Hyundai with an assortment of ads highlighting our own accomplishments."

Those who will watch the Oscar ceremony will have the opportunity to see all-new ads announcing the launch of Hyundai Assurance Plus, a 60-second corporate spot highlighting the history of the company and its commitment to the US market and also a commercial that highlights the Genesis sedan's "2009 North American Car of the Year" honor called "Angry Bosses" which debuted on the Super Bowl as well.

In addition, viewers will also recap the ads featuring the new Genesis Coupe that were aired during the Super Bowl as well as two fresh commercials.
