Gone are the days when you had to be in the car to control it and activate stuff at the push of a button. After Volvo owners, Hyundai customers can now flash their car’s lights in a crowded parking lot, lock the doors and even start it from almost anywhere.
In the world where people race drones for fun, it would be no wonder if humans would end up talking to each other using their cars and get from A to B using a phone, a tablet or a laptop. We know, it sounds a lot like like Jules Verne's books, but you never know.

However, let's stay focused on Hyundai's Blue Link app, that for now allows the user to give basic commands to his or her car. The app is compatible with the Apple Watch, and, as you can imagine, it enables you to control your car either by the traditional icons or through voice commands.

For the latter option, owners just have to push the microphone icon on the watch to activate the feature and give commands such as “Start my car”, “Lock my car”, or “Find my car”.

“The Blue Link Apple Watch app complements all of our other high-tech features. Drivers can get into a Sonata today and find iPhone integration, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection and a smart trunk that will open automatically when you stand behind it,” said aid Frank Ferrara, executive vice president, customer satisfaction, Hyundai Motor America.

Besides remote engine start and door lock/unlock, the Blue Link app offers remote flash lights/honk horn, vehicle finder and parking meter.

Also, you need to know that Blue Link Apple Watch app works with first and next generation Blue Link equipped Hyundai models, like the 2012 Sonata and the 2015 Genesis, Sonata as well as the Azera.
