Hyundai ix35 New CGI

Since the only thing we now have is a set of spyshots showing a heavy camouflaged ix35, a computer generated image would be the best way to give a better glimpse into how the future Tucson replacement will look like. The photo was made by Remco Meulendijk and published via hyundai-blog.com so there's no official in it but, in case the new model will indeed look like this, it will surely be a great car.

The rendering hints at new and extended headlights, new front bumper, new grille and reshaped fog lamps. Overall, the exterior of the car is expected to be somewhat similar to the one of the ix-onic crossover concept that the South Korean manufacturer displayed this year at the Geneva Auto Show.

Details are still sketchy at this point but some media reports are hinting that the new SUV will be powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine developing around 175 horsepower. Because efficiency and environment protection are extremely important nowadays, the powerplant will include Idle Stop & Go technology and will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, specifically optimized for the aforementioned goals.

A second engine will also join the range but its displacement is yet to be revealed. However, we do know it will be called Hyundai R-diesel and will release somewhere around 184 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

The new model is likely to make its first public appearance this year at the Frankfurt Auto Show so we're now expecting for some official details in the upcoming months as we get closer to the official debut.
