Hyundai ix35 Gets Five-Year Warranty & Assistance on UK Market

The UK’s current scrappage scheme is scheduled to end on March 31 and many automakers are preparing special offers to stop their sales from falling. For example, Hyundai is preparing to introduce a five-year warranty program.

The “Triple 5” offer will debut at the same time with the ix35 SUV’s UK launch. Initially it will be offered exclusively for this model, with the possibility of spreading across the model range in sight.

This after-sales package is already present on certain European markets, offering new car customers five years of warranty with unlimited mileage, roadside assistance and 5 annual free maintenance inspections.

We need to find out if this works for people. We already had a strong warranty but we wanted to add to it. Will Triple 5 help them decide to choose a Hyundai, or do they choose one anyway and this is a bonus?”, Hyundai UK managing director Tony Whitehorn was quoted as saying by just-auto. Whitehorn added that the bonus scheme will be offered for other upcoming models, such as the facelifted i30 range.

The Hyundai ix35 allows users to choose from 5 engines, three diesel units and two petrol ones. The diesel range will be topped by a new R 2.0 liter engine, offering 184 HP and 392 Nm of torque. A downtuned version of this, producing 136 HP and 320 Nm of torque will also be available. The least powerful diesel engine will be a 1.7 liter producing 115 HP and 255 Nm. The petrol engine line-up will include a 2.0 liter 163 HP and 197 Nm powerplant and a Gamma 1.6 liter GDI, delivering 140 HP and 167 Nm.
