Hyundai Is a Favorite of Centurion Black Card Holders

The South Korean manufacturer increased its sales by offering low-priced, well appointed vehicles appealing to price conscious people who want premium appointments but don’t want to pay for them. The story is true especially when it comes to Genesis and Equus models, which come with substantial discounts in the mid and full sized luxury segments.

A strange phenomenon was revealed by John Krafcik U.S. Hyundai Chief that seems almost implausible, as The Wall Street Journal related. The brand seems to attract the very wealthy particularly.

The people that are most attracted by Hyundai are American Express Centurion Card holders. The Centurion card holders are people who are rich enough that they are offered a “Black Card” with nearly unlimited line of credit.

The average Centurion has $16.3 million in assets and an annual income of $1.3 million. Benefits of the Centurion Card also include airline upgrades, concierge and travel agent service, favored positioning for sporting events and other niceties that are probably only useful to people who tons of disposable cash

Also John Krafcik mentioned that he has never been offered a Centurion Card invitation, as related by the aforementioned source.

There was shown that they buy Hyundais at a disproportionately high rate compared with other cars. Furthermore 6% of Black Card holders say they have a Hyundai in their garage. Among other on the list came BMW with 22% then Mercedes with 21%, Porsche with 15%, Lexus 11%, Ferrari 8%, and Acura 7%. This way Hyundai managed to put all the exciting brands below it.
