Hyundai Elantra Does Car of the Year Victory Lap for Super Bowl

Yet another video was added to Hyundai’s very impressive Super Bowl lineup, covering both the pre- and inter-game periods. This time, they went for a quiet pride attitude to the fact that the 40 mpg Elantra sedan has scored the 2012 North American Car of the Year award recently.
The idea behind the 30-second long ‘Victory Lap’ commercial is that you, the owner, are so proud of the merits of your car that you drive it around the neighborhood on a celebratory parade of sensibleness. Instead of fanfare, all you can do is honking your horn from time to time so that people would notice you have an Elantra.

Last year, the sedan saw tremendous demand from US consumers, and as a result Hyundai sold 186,361 units in the United States alone, helping the company on to a better than average 20 percent sales increase overall. The problem now lies with the Montgomery, Alabama, factory, which that makes the mid-size model, as this plant was already 10 percent over official capacity last year, which means they won’t be able to keep up with demand this year.
