Late last week, Korean carmaker Hyundai announced its factory in Nosovice, Czech Republic, has produced its one millionth car. This impressive figure comes less than five years since it opened its doors on November 3rd, 2008.
The milestone car is an i30 model, the compact hatch that is helping Hyundai achieve good sales in a struggling European market.

“Since 2008, we have developed our business to become a truly ‘European’ brand.  Our Czech plant is at the heart of our European success, producing the two best-selling Hyundai models in the region and making one car every minute.  It’s cars such as New ix35 and New Generation i30 that have helped us achieve a record-high European market share of 3.5% in 2012,” said Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO at Hyundai Motor Europe.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
