Korean manufacturer Hyosung is rumored to unveil its new fully-faired bike GD250R in a short time. A naked version of this machine was introduced last year at the EICMA in Milan, Italy so this news is not a exactly a big surprise.
The new bike will be based on the same platform, which means it will receive a fuel-injected 249cc single-cylinder engine which is good for just north of 28 horsepower and 25 Nm (18.4 lb-ft) of torque, which means plenty of fun for the Asian market. It’s direct competitors are however, very strong, with the upcoming KTM RC200 or the single-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 250RR being just the two. Even though in a slightly different league, the Honda CBR250R and CBR300R are not to be forgotten, either.

Taking a closer look at the photos moto125 showed, and picturing a fully faired design, we can expect that the handlebars go lower and more to the front, just like a sport bike looks like. But in case Hyosung does no revise the pegs’ position and plans to use the same chassis, then riding the new machine could be a really weird experience. New, proper rearsets are definitely a must…

As for the rest of the build, we can expect a 6-spedd gearbox, Euro3 compliance for the EU markets, USD forks and present-day, all-digital instrumentation. The price is rumored to be around the $3,700 (€2,700), but there’s no exact telling whether this is the price tag for the Asian markets or the worldwide base one.
