KTM might have a new Duke 800 in the chamber but, if there’s another naked to get you on your toes, that should be part of the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen range. Yes, the bike maker launched a teaser for it and suggested that EICMA will be the host of the big unveil.
It’s been a while since we heard about Husqvarna’s cool Vitpilen concepts and their possible production counterparts, but here it is - a teaser video that hints we’ll soon feast our eyes upon a brand new model in the bike maker’s range.
As expected, the video isn’t giving much about what model is being teased here, with Husqvarna having put out concepts for a Vitpilen 125, Vitpilen 401, and Vitpilen 701.
There are a few frames showing a bit of the engine, which does appear to be as big as the one displayed on the Vitpilen 401 concept. And the fact it has one disk brake up front makes me believe the teased bike is indeed the production version of the 401.
Engine wise, the Vitpilen here could either get a modified KTM 690 Duke lump in case of a 701 model, or the one from the 390 Duke if it’s the 401 model.
A couple of shots and reflections show the new bike coming with a nice round LED headlight using part of the original design through an arched upper daytime running light, that interesting T-shaped gas tank, and a short rear subframe.
The Vitpilen in question here also comes with low-mounted clip-ons for a very aggressive streetfighter stance as well as a simple round dial that probably incorporates an LCD.
Finally, the teaser ends with a date and a place. Yes, the production-version Vitpilen, or all of them, will be unveiled next week on November 8th at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
