Both the 701 Supermoto and Enduro models for 2017 are equipped with an improved version of the 692.7cc single-cylinder powerplant that cranks 74 hp at 8,000 rpm and 71 Nm (52 lb-ft) at 6,750 rpm, representing a 6 hp and 3 Nm (2.2 lb-ft) increase over the previous generation. As expected, the new engine is Euro IV compliant.

Offering great reliability, the engine uses innovative solutions such as the active evacuation and forced lubrication of the crankcase to ensure 10,000 km (6,200 miles) service intervals.

Smooth power delivery is assured by a four-valve cylinder head, twin spark ignition and the single overhead camshaft technology that allows for more exact valve timing at higher engine speeds. The engineers managed to add an extra 1,000 rpm of usable range to the engine this way. A second counter balancer shaft has been added to increase comfort by lessening vibrations.

True to Swedish styling and minimalistic design, the new Husqvarna 701 Supermoto gets updated graphics, with white colors prevailing over blue and yellow. All get perfectly matched by a set of black anodized tubeless 17-inch rims. ABS is offered as standard, and the bike is A2 license compatible.

The 701 Enduro is able to handle both urban and offroad environments and gets a similar blue and yellow over white styling theme. ABS is standard issue while coming with a 21-inch / 18-inch high strength DID wheels and competition suspension with a travel of 275 mm as well as increased adjustability.

The new Husqvarna MY17 701 SUPERMOTO and 701 ENDURO will be presented at the upcoming Intermot show in Cologne on the Husqvarna Motorcycles booth, Hall 09.1 booth 025 and will be available in Europe from October on.
