Husqvarna Reaches 25,000 Units Produced Milestone

After the recent inauguration of its new development and administrative center, Husqvarna has yet another reason to celebrate, as the 25,000th motorcycle rolled off the assembly line on October 2, at the Biandronno factory in northern Italy. Moreover, this happened two years to the day since BMW acquired the brand and marked Husqvarna’s rebirth.

"I am very happy to celebrate another nice event just a few days after the inauguration of our new Headquarters and R&D Center," said Rainer Thoma, President of Husqvarna Motorcycles, in a statement for the press. "This underlines the dynamic nature of the company. We now have the ability to create and build attractive new products at the highest level of quality and performance."

"A great result has been achieved today by our factory," added Plant Manager Giuseppe Manacorda as the 2010 TE 450 rolled off the assembly line. "We produced the 25,000th motorcycle since Husqvarna has become a BMW brand and we are very proud of this accomplishment. In these two years, the production lines have been completely revised, we installed a new quality service and the logistics operation is now in the reconstruction phase."

Moreover, Manacorda agrees with Thoma that the global economic crisis has deeply affected industry, but says that Husqvarna will keep on struggling to cope with the hard times. "The company decided to continue investing energy and capital into the most updated production processes in order to remain a leading European motorcycle manufacturer. It is also remarkable that this investment has been made in the Varese area, which is traditionally known for the high professional standards of its people."
