Husqvarna Motorcycles Opens New Center

Husqvarna Motorcycles opened on Monday a new development and administrative center in Cassinetta di Biandronno, to complement the existing company HQ.

The new building will house the manufacturer's engine development department, roller dynamometer facilities, prototype workshop, racing division and a technical training centre, as well as the development department.

"The new development and administrative building has been planned and designed to provide product development with the best possible support and to permit optimum integration of all the functional units involved in the manufacturing processes for the entire range of Husqvarna Motorcycles S.R.L. products," Rainer Thoma, Husqvarna Motorcycles manager said in a release.

"Moreover, the new building has been dimensioned in line with the endeavoured medium-term growth target of 40,000 motorcycles per year.

As with all manufacturer's who open new centers or facilities today, Husqvarna's new building was constructed with energy efficiency in mind. Energy for hot water is obtained by using the solar panels fitted on the building's roof, while the roof itself was designed with presentation purposes in mind.

A showroom has also been incorporated in the new building, which will house the latest models off Husqvarna's lines and the company's motorsport activities.

From the production standpoint, the motorcycle builder announced prices for its new Husqvarna Cross Country, Enduro, Motocross and Supermoto models, all featuring significant upgrades. The Cross Country range starts at $7,299, the Enduro 4-Stroke at $7,599 the Enduro 2-Stroke at $5,999, the Motocross at $6,899 and the Supermoto at $7,999. They will be showcased at the new center as well.
