A press release from Husqvarna has just arrived in our inbox and it brings much-anticipated news regarding the 701 Supermoto. Husky's newest road-going machine, the 701 Supermoto will first become available in European dealerships, followed by US showrooms around two months later.
Husqvarna says that 701 Supermoto will arrive at European dealers in November, while the supermoto enthusiasts across the pond will have to wait until February next year to get hold of this thrilling machine. Other overseas market will also have to wait until early in 2016 to receive the bike.

The 701 Supermoto is the first street motorcycle Husqvarna shows in the new era, after being sold by BMW to KTM. This baby is powered by a 690cc liquid-cooled thumper that produces 65.7 horsepower and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The high-performance engine has two oil pumps for better lubrication, a Keihin EMS (engine management system) and ride-by-wire. A hydraulic APTC slipper clutch is also on the menu.

A chromoly trellis frame, WP suspensions and Brembo brakes

Husqvarna 701 Supermoto uses a chromium-molybdenum steel tubular trellis frame with an upside-down 48mm WP fork and a WP Pro-Lever linkage monoshock. A radial Brembo caliper squeezes the 240mm front disc, while the rear brake also employs a Brembo caliper. A Bosch 9M+ ABS with an off-road mode takes care of brake power.

The 701 Supermoto tips the scales at 145 kg (320 lb) dry and can carry 14 liters (3.7 US gal) of fuel. The seat is 890mm (35") from the road, and the bike has a generous 270mm (10.6") ground clearance.

No prices were revealed at the time of writing, but we believe this is only a matter of days. Check back with us in November, as we'll be in Milan at the EICMA to bring you more info on the 701 Supermoto.
