The ink is still fresh in the American aftermarket history book: Hurst Performance has presented its first turbocharged project, the Redline Series Hurst Camaro, as motortrend reports.

Under the hood of the car, we find the Camaro’s 3.6 liter V6 engine, which has received an improvement in terms of power, as well as an extra torque wave. To be more precise, the unit delivers 360hp at 6,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 320 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. This has been achieved through the use of a remote-mounted turbocharger that is located on the Hurst custom exhaust system.

Here’s the interesting part. The tuner claims that the engine now offers a 30 percent economy increase, when compared to the Camaro’s stock 312 hp and 278 lb-ft powerplant.

The vehicle comes with special elements, such as an Air-Speed rear deck spoiler, while the exterior gets custom decals, which use a black and red theme.

The car rides closer to the road as it uses a modified suspension consisting of Hurst/Detroit Speed coil-overs and sway bars. This not only improves its aspect but also allows it to tackle the corners with more confidence.

The tuner’s Redline vehicle line has been created together with BFGoodrich tires, who is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Radial T/A range this year. The Camaro uses 18 inch Hurst T1 wheels that feature a five-spoke design and are wrapped in Radial T/A Spec, an anniversary model created by BFGoodrich.

The interior of the car has been fitted with a Katzkin leather finish, a pistol grip shifter, as well as a gauge package (boost pressure and turbocharger temperature indicators).

The Redline Series Camaro will retail for a price of over $50,000, with the production limited to 50 units per year.
