Hurst Builds Limited Edition Viper

Hurst Performance Vehicles today announced that a limited edition series Hurst/Viper will be built starting December 2008 as the company's own way to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Hurst will manufacture only 50 customized supercars, but no pricing information is available for the time being.

As expected, these “unique” Vipers will include various exclusive features, starting with Hurst's HARD-DRIVE gold pistol-grip shifter and ending with the Katzkin leather interior.

First of the all, the cars will feature Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires with Corsa exhaust and Moton Club Sport adjustable coil-over suspension with Eibach springs. The interior received the previously-mentioned Kazkin charcoal leather with Hurst embroidered logos and perforated leather inserts.

"We are extremely proud to offer another milestone Hurst vehicle. The 50 year legacy of Hurst is matched by very few companies; it is truly something to celebrate. We are looking forward to 50 more years of delivering Hurst performance and value to our fans and enthusiasts,” Nate Shelton, Chairman of Hurst Performance Vehicles, said.

Beside these aftermarket Vipers, Hurst Performance Vehicles will also design a Hurst/Viper model for charity which, according to a statement released to the press, will be auctioned by the Barrett-Jackson Scottdale Auction on January 17, 2009. The so-called “Hurst/Viper #01” sports Hurst Gold exterior paint, black-chrome Hurst wheels and black racing stripes. It will be designed in partnership with the Woodhouse Auto Family of Blair, Nebraska, Hurst explained in the statement.

"We are thrilled to partner with Hurst to help Victory Junction to provide a life-changing experience for these very deserving children and their families. We are donating the profits from the sale of this very special #01 HURST/Viper to help build the newest Victory Junction camp here in the Midwest,” Lance Pittack, Owner/Principal of Woodhouse Automotive Family, said.

There are no previews photos with the forthcoming Hurst Viper but more information is expected to be released anytime in the near future as production is due to start this month.
