We talk about thousands of horsepower, and other mind-boggling numbers, here at autoevolution, but we could never even begin to fathom the true power of nature. When a hurricane (or typhoon, depending on where you are in the world) strikes, it brings with it heavy rain and extremely strong winds.
The footage below is from the Jelawat typhoon, which struck Japan immediately after the earthquake and tsunami we all know. It injured some 100 people, and had winds so strong, that they were able to flip an MPV as if it were a plastic toy, being tossed about by a toddler.
If you were wondering how fast the winds were, they apparently reached speeds of around 145 mph (235 km/h), and judging by the video, we do believe this figure, and speculate that it may have been even higher.
