Hunton’s Next Generation Speed Boat Is the Ultimate Aston Martin of the Sea

Their luxurious boats are not called the Aston Martin of the sea for nothing after all. And the latest model British boat maker Hunton created in collaboration with dynamic superyacht designers Eidsgaard is just another piece of evidence. Conceived as the flagship of the company’s future generation the XRS52 offers an impressive blend of artistic creativity, technology and craftsmanship. Oh, and it’s able to reach top speeds of 65 knots (74 mph).

Other than speeds and luxury, the British boat maker is renown for their great attention to detail, something similar to what expensive sportscars are to the automotive industry. The new model is still under development, but is totally worth mentioning. With a choice of hardtop or open cockpit, twin or triple engines, petrol or diesel propulsion, 2 cabins both with bathrooms there is not much this puppy doesn’t have.

Modular cockpit seating, state-of-the-art electronics and some impressive performance all make the next generation vessel a true luxury cruiser. In specs, we’re looking at a compact 51’ (15.54 m) long and 13’ 3’’ wide (4.04 m) vessel whose displacement starts from 26,455 lbs (12,000 kg).

Currently under development, the first model to emerge from the Hampshire boatyard for almost a decade, Hunton’s new speedster is still at least one year away from being publicly showcased. According to Motorboat, the Hunton XRS52 was previously announced in January at the 2015 Boot Dusseldorf Boat Show when the company’s representatives said they are about to show “something big for the summer.”

Everything sounds pretty good so far, but you are going to need to be aware we’re looking at a high-end product here that won’t come cheap. Not at all actually.

Considering Hunton’s current flagship, the XRS43 is a little under one million dollars, we’re most likely looking at a speedster that costs McLaren P1 money.
