Hummer H3 Alpha Humming this Summer

After the Hummer H1 Alpha of the 90s, here comes another Alpha version of this GM brand, the 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha. Some describe it as the ultimate Hummer H3, including Martin Walsh, Hummer general manager. I don't know if you can call the H3 ultimate in any given situation, but the Alpha version is indeed very powerful.

It has a 5.3 liter V8 engine, which can develop 295 horsepower and a maximum torque of 438 Nm (317 lb-ft). Usually, the manufacturers announce the top speed of the vehicle and the time it takes to reach 100 km, right after revealing the performances of the engine, but since the Hummer H3 is not a car built for speed, they reveal its towing capacity. So, the Hummer H3 Alpha can tow up to 2,721 kg (around 6,000 pounds), a significant increase of 33 percent compared to previous Hummer models.

Martin Walsh also says about the Hummer H3 Alpha that “it delivers all of H3’s renowned off-road capability, but with enhanced performance that is suited to a variety of lifestyles”, and he is probably referring to the equipping levels of the mid-size SUV. The most popular among Hummer customers is the Chrome Appearance equipment package, which is also present on the Alpha version and includes 16 inch chrome wheels, Alpha tailgate badge, and the Alpha logo embroidered on the front headrests.

Most Hummer customers don't want to buy a model with too many customizations, because many prefer to install aftermarket parts on it, but for those who don't want to invest more money in an already pricey car, there is the H3 X package. This includes: bright roof crossbows, chrome fuel door, unique spare tires cover, and body color grille.

Details on the ground clearance, breakover angle, approach angle and maximum departure angle are shown in the photos below, so check them out.
